FOODIE DELIGHT: Conceptualiser Stephanie Scott speaks at the 2009 launch of Restaurant Week at Devon House on Thursday.
Eating out is in again. Last Thursday, a handful of food and culture lovers gathered at Devon House in St Andrew for the 2009 launch of Restaurant Week. But there is a new twist this year for the Gleaner-sponsored calendar event. Formerly Kingston Restaurant Week, it has now been expanded to also include restaurants in the resort meccas of Ocho Rios in St Ann and Montego Bay in St James.
A week-long event celebrating Jamaica's culinary community, Restaurant Week (the brainchild of event planner Stephanie Scott) offers a unique opportunity for visitors and locals alike to experience adventures in epicurean tastes for less. The public is encouraged to dine out and sample the diverse culinary options that the cities have to offer at greatly reduced prices.
With 45 participating restaurants this year, the event runs from November 7 to 14.
