AWARDS SEASON WATCH: "Nine", "Inglorious Basterds" top Critics Choice nominees

MOVIE MUSICAL: The women of the acclaimed new musical Nine strike a pose.

Quentin Tarantino's World War II epic Inglourious Basterds and the stage-to-screen musical Nine have received the most nominations for the Broadcast Film Critics Association’s 15th Annual Critics Choice Film Awards, receiving a record 10 nominations each.

Inglorious Basterds received nominations for best picture, best supporting actor for Christoph Waltz, best ensemble, best director for Tarantino, best original screenplay, best cinematography, best art direction, best editing, best costume design and best action movie.

Meanwhile, Nine received nominations for best picture, best supporting actress, best ensemble, best cinematography, best art direction, best editing, best costume design, best makeup, best sound and best song.

Joining Inglorious Basterds and Nine in the best picture category are Avatar, An Education, The Hurt Locker, Invictus, Precious, A Serious Man, Up and Up in the Air.

The 15th annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards will be held Jan. 15 at the Hollywood Palladium.
