LET LAUGHTER REIGN: Ace comedians cover latest issue of Buzzz

For their first issue of 2010, the newly revamped Buzzz Caribbean Lifestyle Magazine highlights the work of a multi-faceted group of Jamaican comedians for the mag’s inaugural comedy issue. Gracing the cover are the usual suspects of Jamaican comedy: kingpin Oliver Samuels, Volier Johnson, Glen Campbell and Elva Ruddock.

In the cover story “Laughter Is A Healer,” which also features actor and comic Everaldo Creary, the comedians divulge details about their work as comedians, the state of comedy in the Caribbean and their views on the way forward. “Comedy should not just be about entertainment but also about education and action,” shares Samuels, who has over 40 years’ experience in comedy. “It is a vehicle for transmitting messages, exposing the ills of society and tackling major issues. Plus, we love to laugh at ourselves and our comedians, and comedy offers that.”

The new issue of the hip magazine, which also features a wonderful range of insightful articles on health, fitness, finance, sex, sports, fashion, beauty and entertainment, is now available at newsstands and at leading bookstores and pharmacies locally and at select overseas destinations.
