TALKING BACK: Readers write in…

A NEW LEAF: Kiki comes clean

Our recent exclusive interview with Keri ‘Kiki’ Lewis-Thombs touched readers, several of whom shared their thoughts in the Comments over at TALLAWAH JAMAICA:

I must say Kerie never ceases to amaze me. Such tact, thoughtfulness, honesty and openness is rare. She is such an inspiration, and I hope that all she has to offer does not get stifled by "brand"-serving and other corporate excuses. We need more of her for our communities to become more responsible in making life decisions. It is people like Kerie who contribute to healthy and wealthy societal/national growth. As the producer of Our Very Own: Locked up Abroad I must say I feel rather inspired myself by her true and consistent beauty. We need more of her in today's Caribbean.

Really like this story. Keep your head up. This is really touching. It encourages me. Just what I needed!

I am going to miss you from Rising Stars, Kiki. I thought you did a better job than Yendi at hosting. I am also at a loss as to why your story would affect a brand's image after what happened was several years ago, and I might add that you were already representing the brand. All the best to you and your family.

You are one brave girl, but I think you did the right thing because when you are in the limelight somebody will make it their business to go dig up your past and use it against you. S now, you first them to it. We all make mistakes in life. Some more dangerous than some. You've paid your price. Now it’s time to get on with it – and you have. Go for it, girl!
