Jamaican-born movie star Paul Campbell and his castmates oozed elegance at the Royal Theatre on Thursday in Los Angeles, the posh setting for the premiere of their new Jamaican film, Out The Gate.

A gritty urban action-drama, Out The Gate features performances from Campbell, Everton Dennis and Oliver Samuels. Boasting a high-energy reggae and dancehall soundtrack, the film revolves around a Jamaican dreamer (Dennis) who travels to the US to pursue a music career but finds trouble when he encounters an area don (Campbell) who demands his dues. Scenes for Out the Gate were reportedly shot in Clarendon and LA.

Following Thursday's world premiere, special screenings are scheduled for New York, London, Toronto, Miami and Kingston. Check out photo highlights from the LA premiere, and the film trailer below.

MAN APART: Co-star Everton Dennis smartly opted for all black.
