THE PRIME MINISTER'S YOUTH AWARDS 2011: Outstanding young men and women honoured (Highlights)

Sean Davis collects his award in the category of Leadership. Since primary school, he has been an initiator of good citizenry among his peers and has always been at the top of his class both in academic and extra-curricular activities.

Athlete Yohan Blake is awarded in the Sports category; he blazed to a personal best of 9.89 seconds last year, making him the fourth fastest Jamaican sprinter of all time.

Yanique DaCosta is awarded in the category of Youth in Service. Among her numerous achievements is that at the age of twelve, she was Director of the board of the Chevannes Basic School, where she raised funds to build a new playground.

Shena Moulton receives her award in the category of International Achievement. At age 16, she is one of the youngest nominees ever for the Prime Minster’s Youth Awards.

Nicholas Powell, who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Technology, and currently farms 15 acres of land producing tomatoes, cabbage, sweet potatoes, cucumber, sweet peppers and other items, receives his award in the category of Agriculture.
