Triple world record holder Usain Bolt and his Jamaican compatriots will be setting new records at next year’s London Olympics in true true island style. PUMA and Cedella Marley (below), Bob Marley’s eldest daughter, have jointly announced that she will be designing the Jamaican track and field team’s Olympic uniform, podium and ceremony wear. Cedella describes the partnership as “legendary.”
Never one to shy away from fast fashion, Bolt likes the partnership as well. "I can't think of a better person to design our Olympic outfits than Cedella. PUMA got that right – hooking up with a legendary Jamaican. She's a great designer but also carries on the spirit of our nation through the legacy of the Marley family. It's going to be inspirational to run in London with that energy surrounding me."
Look out for Bolt giving an early showcase of Cedella’s designs this summer in Korea at the IAAF World Athletic Championships. In the meantime, you can own a piece of Bolt’s personal athletic-meets streetsmart style by supporting the Bolt Collection by Puma, which offers a mix of apparel, footwear and accessories.
