THE ESSENCE OF SPORTS: Kingston to host international conference on sports development

In taking its role in sport development more seriously, Jamaica will lead a discussion on The Business of Sport from May 5-6 in Kingston. The two-day regional conference, set for the Jamaica Pegasus, is being coordinated by Carole Beckford & Associates and Strategic Corporate Interventions. A recent release from the organizers noted that the keenly anticipiated event has so far attracted international, regional and national presenters from the UK, USA, the Caribbean and Jamaica.

The sports ministers of Jamaica (Hon. Olivia Grange) and Trinidad & Tobago (Hon. Anil Roberts) have been confirmed as presenters, and they will share stage with sport management representatives and experts from the fields of academia, management, major events, marketing, event planning, branding and media.

The conference has targeted 250 paid participants to come largely from national, regional and international sporting, marketing, legal and academic institutions and entities. For more: thebusinessofsport.org; 754 5637.
