HONOURING TEACHERS: PM Bruce Golding presents the 2011 Medal of Appreciation for Service to Education

GETTING HIS DUE: PM Bruce Golding (left) presents the Prime Minister’s Medal of Appreciation for Service to Education to Earl George Christian at Thursday's ceremony at Jamaica House. Mr. Christian is also a minister of religion in addition to being a teacher who has given over 43 years of service to the education sector. His community service projects includes undertaking a feeding programme at the infirmary in Portland.

HONOREES: Prime Minister Bruce Golding and Minister of Education, Andrew Holness, are photographed with the 2011 recipients of the Prime Minister’s Medal of Appreciation for Service to Education. The Medal was instituted in 2005 and is awarded by the Prime Minister during the observance of Education Week in May. It is given to persons who have made significant contribution to the development of Jamaica in the field of education. The ceremony was held last Thursday evening at Jamaica House.
