OUT AND ABOUT: Harry Belafonte + Lorna Golding + Yendi + Miss Kitty + Ryan Mark

THE READER: Mrs. Lorna Golding shares a story with children of the downtown Kingston-based St. Joseph’s Infant School during the school's recent observance of the JTA's Read-Across-Jamaica Day. Golding has been an ardent lobbyist for the transformation of early childhood education to bring about positive changes in the physical, mental, and cultural life of Jamaican children.

KING AND QUEEN: Soca lord Machel Mantano is helplessly drawn to the allure of Yendi Phillipps (decked out in full bacchanal regalia), pulling her close for a photo-op last Saturday on the 2011 Jamaica Carnival Road March in Kingston. Watch them hands, mister.

DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL: Ample proof of the warm father-daughter bond, Ryan Mark and Sarah are that inseparable pair who give fresh meaning to the apple of one's eye. The reggae-gospel star, who is getting set to drop a new album this summer, recently debuted this photo, which is nothing if not instantly charming.

GLAMOUR PUSS: Ever the dazzler, media darling Miss Kitty is a vision in sparkling red while repping for the fluffy divas on the 2011 Jamaica Carnival Road March in city Kingston last weekend. As far as cats go, that's one sexy kitty.

DISTINGUISHED GENTLEMEN: Cultural legends Harry Belafonte (left) and Sidney Poitier are smartly dashing at the Film Society of Lincoln Centre's presentation of the 38th Annual Chaplin Awards at New York City's Alice Tully Hall on Monday. On May 14, Belafonte will present the Beacon of Change Award to musician Carlos Santana at the 2011 MLB Beaccon Awards Banquet at the Omni Hotel Grand Ballroom in Atlanta.
