CHINO stops by ‘Rising Stars,’ issues advice to contestants

WORK MODE: Album promo, concert gigs continue for Chino

Fresh from a three-week promotional blitz in the States in support of his critically well-received debut album, dancehall hotshot Chino last night dropped in on the contestants and crew of Digicel Rising Stars to occupy the seat reserved for the weekly guest adjudicator, alongside in-house judges Bambino and Tessanne. Tanya Stephens served as guest judge for last week’s season debut.

Last night Chino had a word of advice for the season 8 contestants: “Just go all out; be confident. Be serious about it, but try not to be too serious. Just have fun with it,” he said. Up next, ahead of a busy late-summer and fall schedule of concert performances, the in-demand entertainer jumps back into promotional mode with singles from the self-titled album and new studio tracks reportedly on the way.

  1. For someone with such lyrical prowess I found Chino to be quite one worded. Maybe that's his style. I like the introduction of guest judges. Can I put in a bid for Brushy One String?

  2. I see your point, Cuffe. Speaking of Brushy, haven't seen or heard a thing about him since he appeared on the show.
