ISLAND LOVERS: Rogen (right) and Goldberg
Seth Rogen will team up with some of his old buddies to bring to life a cinematic trip to the home of reggae and Rasta, according to Mandate Pictures.
Via their Point Grey Pictures outfit, Rogen and his Pineapple Express co-executive producer Evan Goldberg will re-team for Jamaica, a Will Reiser-penned comedy that will be loosely based on a vacation that Reiser took to the island with his grandmother when he was 14. According to Mandate, Reiser says that the film, already being fast-tracked, will be “something of a passion project” for him. The Wackness director Jonathan Levine is attached to direct.
Meanwhile, the co-producers recently collaborated on the cancer dramedy 50/50 (out September 30), a semi-autobiographical Reiser flick starring Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
No word yet on whether filming will be done on actual Jamaican soil, and if so, when.
