MOMENT OF PRIDE: The World's Fastest Man proudly displays his latest accolade, the 2010 Jupiter Award, presented by United Way of Jamaica for his outstanding contribution to nation-building, but especially early childhood education, youth and community development projects carried out in partnership with United Way.
PICTURE THIS: The recent video shoot for the Matrimoney Medley, produced by Washroom's Conroy Forte (right), brought out a who's who of faces in local entertainment, including radio jock and part-time deejay Liquid and dancehall fire-starter Tifa, who brings the heat this week in her own new video for "Get Flat."
BACK TO BLACK: Sean Paul's fascinating head made it's own style statement when we spotted him on the set of the Matrimoney Medley video shoot in Kingston last week. Career-wise, SP drops his next album (as yet untitled) in the fall.
JUST THE TWO OF US: Putting recent controversy (surrounding pregnancy and paternity) behind them, Rohan Marley and expectant mommy Lauryn Hill were all smiles as they stepped out for a viewing of the Broadway smash Spider Man: Turn of the Dark in New York City last week. When is Lauryn gonna deliver another album. I'm quite certain it will be worth the wait. o_O
SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY: New Orleans was the place to be this weekend, as the Essence Music Festival celebrated it's 16th staging with empowerment seminars and nightly concerts featuring Usher, Mary J, Jill Scott, Trey Songz and Kanye. Jamaican-born Editor-in-chief of Essence, Constance White, was among the magazine's team that welcomed patrons to the fest. Uh, I am so there next year. *fingers crossed*
