BACK IN LIGHTS: Patra plots her comeback, crafting new album in Bahamas

Original dancehall diva Patra has been woefully MIA for quite a spell, so one is feverishly excited to hear that she has a comeback album in the works. The 38-year-old entertainer was snapped on the red carpet last week at the Inspired in New York event honouring Emil Wilbekin (below), Managing Editor of Essence.com. And what better way to make an entrance and turn quick heads than long thick braids and a flattering catsuit? You better werk, Patra! The body is still on point.

Lady Patra is reportedly in the Bahamas recording her forthcoming album, Changes, and under the new management of the Box 10 Entertainment Group. For me, I can't wait to hear the new music. Her 90s tunes like "Pull Up To My Bumper" and "Romantic Call" were infectious smash hits locally and overseas, earning her legions of admirers. She last put out an album (Where I've Been) in 2005, and now is as good a time as any to re-enter the scene to re-connect with those who fell for her naughty-and-nice approach to music.

POSH PAIR: Patra and Essence's Emil Wilbekin at the New York event.
