IN A NEW LIGHT: Vivid hues brighten Sean Paul’s latest clip (plus, SP stops by 106 & Park)

NY STATE OF MIND: The star at BET for Monday's taping of 106 & Park.

Sean Paul has been enlightened. The dancehall superstar, who has a highly anticipated new album on the way, has released a stunning visual for his pulsating new single, “Got 2 Luv U” (which features vocal contributions from spunky American songbird Alexis Jordan), and what immediately leaps to attention is not the video’s tony club setting or the plethora of dancing girls, but the psychedelic and attention-grabbing series of lights that immediately recalls Kanye West and Rihanna’s beautiful “All of the Lights.” Lights for weeks.

Meanwhile, the 38-year-old Grammy winner, who is completing work on the new album (his fifth) which arrives later this year, stopped by BET’s 106 & Park on Monday to premiere the video, which was shot inside Las Vegas hotspots by director Ben Mor over the course of three days. Sean also talked about, among other things, his recording career and the support of his fans.
