BROTHERS OF SPEED: The World's Fastest Man (WFM) and his training partner Yohan Blake were recently spotted in serious chillax mode ahead of the conclusion of the recent World Athletic Champs in Daegu, South Korea. Both sprinters took a beating in the press last week over their immature antics during the playing of the National Anthem on the final day of the champs. They have since issued individual apologies. Luckily, their competitive spirits are still firmly intact as Blake recently proved in Zurich and Berlin. It now appears that the best is yet to come.
VIVA VIVICA!: The star of such well-loved movies as Set It Off, Two Can Play That Game and Kill Bill, fresh-faced beauty Vivica A. Fox recently dropped in to endorse Thursday's islandwide Fashion's Night Out festivities and introduce her buzz-worthy new hair line (vivicafoxhair.com) at the SoHo boutique. Kanhai Condison could not pass up the chance for a photo-op.
SOLDIERS OF THE CROSS?: These curiously costumed young men were on the scene at Friday's launch of Acts of the Apostles, the new Father HoLung and Friends theatrical production, inside New Kingston's Sagicor Auditorium. Where can I pick up one of those headpieces?
BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE: The batch of versatile Miss Jamaica World finalists were stunning in two-piece swimsuits during the grand 2011 coronation over the weekend inside the ballroom of the Jamaica Pegasus. The significant 'Beauty With A Purpose Award' was won by 24-year-old Chavoy Gordon, Miss Appleton Jamaica Rum.
HEAD OF THE CLASS: The curtains came down on this year's Miss Jamaica World series of events on Saturday night with a grand coronation show at the Pegasus. By the end of the night, 25-year-old Danielle Crosskill (Miss Ocean Spray) walked away with the coveted crown.
