COFFEE TALK: Sean Paul says he’d love to collaborate with Nicki Minaj

PITCH PERFECT: From global icon Beyoncé to reigning pop goddess Rihanna, dancehall superstar Sean Paul has recorded tracks with some of music’s top female recording stars. With a new album out in February that features the likes of Kelly Rowland (on the Stargate-produced track “How Deep”), Sean Paul has set his sights on landing a collabo with rap’s leading diva, Nicki Minaj. “I think she is one of the hottest rappers right now,” he said of the Trini-born star during a recent sit-down with Rap-Up TV. “She is really doing her thing, and I’d definitely love to work with her.” The interview (see below) also featured the artiste sharing details about the upcoming album, including the direction he took with the recording process and the producers who crafted tracks:

RARE GEM: Grammy winner Dobet Gnahore, who collaborated with India.Arie on the soothing 2009 hit “Pearls,” will be in the island to give a performance at Mona’s Philip Sherlock Centre on Oct. 23. The singer and percussionist, who hails from the Ivory Coast, will be a special guest of the Alliance Française de la Jamaíque on the occasion of Jamaica’s Heritage Month celebrations.
