LAUGHING MATTER: Jan. 4, Kingston. Gorgeous as ever in understated chic, it girls Tami Chynn (left) and Yendi Phillipps show their pearly whites at the Youth View Awards launch last Wednesday. Tami, set to host the Feb. 4 awards, is a nominee for Favourite Local Artiste. Phillipps, meanwhile, is up for Favourite Celebrity Role Model.
ROYAL THREE: Jan. 4, Kingston. Phillipps also posed for pics with radio kingpin Bambino (left) and reggae warrior Tarrus Riley at the recent YVAs launch. Bambino copped a pair of noms (Favourite Media Personality and Favourite Selector), while Tarrus Riley is up for Favourite Cultural Artiste, for the Feb. 4 awards.
VARIETY HOUR: Jan. 4, California. TALLAWAH cover star Shaggy (right) and American comic Tracy Morgan were among the guests last Wednesday on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Shaggy, who is busy fine-tuning plans for this Saturday's big-budget concert at Jamaica House, performed his latest single "Dame," (with Kat Deluna) on the show.
TOP BILLING: Dec. 30, Brooklyn. Reggae veterans Richie Stephens (left) and Gramps Morgan were the top draws at a recent gospel event in Brooklyn, New York, sharing the stage momentarily to the delight of the crowd.
POSH SPICE: Jan. 4, Kingston. Singer Denyque (spotted here with a friend at the YVAs launch) is fast becoming one of the industry's most noteworthy new style icons. Here, she serves up more of that irresistible mix of grace and glam.
STICK BY ME: Dec. 30, St. Catherine. Two of TALLAWAH's favourite celebs, actress Camille Davis and sprinter Usain Bolt, share a magic moment on the holiday party scene recently. They make a great match. Should it happen, this would be a romance I'd absolutely approve of.
IN THE RED: Jan. 4, Kingston. Music sensations Tifa and Chris Martin also stepped out earlier this week for the launch of the 2012 Youth View Awards. Tifa (love the red lip!) leads all nominees this year with 8 nods, including a bid for Favourite Local Female Artiste.
