The Actor Boy Awards is getting a major makeover, starting with a fresh panel of adjudicators for the 2011-12 season. “The former judges, bless their hearts, have been with us for a while, and we thought it would be a nice change to rotate them,” Awards co-chair and JADA president Scarlett Beharie explains to TALLAWAH. “Judges will now change every two years. So someone who has judged before can always be invited to judge again later down the line.”..... The five new judges are Christine Ann Bell, Tanya Batson-Savage, Karen Harriott, Keith Noel and Franklyn St. Juste. Nominations will be announced “mid-February,” while the awards show is slated for March 26.

Jamaica has been plunged into deep sadness at the death of Ambassador the Hon. Dudley Joseph Thompson, OJ, QC. Ambassador Thompson passed away Friday morning a day after his 95th birthday. “I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of the Hon. Dudley Thompson, an outstanding Jamaican politician, diplomat and statesman, and a personal and dear friend for more than four decades,” says PM Portia Simpson-Miller. “His passing is exceptionally painful for me, as it was only recently, after my electoral victory, that he called with a most heart-warming congratulation.”
