REBEL, REBEL: Feb. 4, St. Andrew. Songbird Cherine, with track superstar Asafa Powell at a special ceremony hosted by UTech at the Terra Nova Hotel to honour Powell with the Chancellor's Medal.

FADE TO BLACK: Feb. 4, Kingston. Fresh from a knockout performance at the Raggamuffin Music Festival in New Zealand, Cherine stepped out in this sexy number to honour Asafa Powell in song at the UTech Chancellor's ceremony.

BLACK & YELLOW: Feb. 4. Kingston. Multiple winner Popcaan performs during the 2012 Youth View Awards ceremony at the National Indoor Sports Centre. The dancehall star took home three trophies.

PLAYING HOSTESS: Feb. 3, Kingston. Standing out in brilliant red, PM Portia Simpson-Miller recently welcomed a 20-member contingent of Canadian students to Jamaica House for a tour and talk.

GRAND GESTURE: Feb. 4, St. Andrew. Following a performance of his riveting one-man show, Call Mr. Robeson, Nigerian actor and writer Tayo Aluko engages playwright Barbara Gloudon in conversation outside the Vera Moody Concert Hall at the Edna Manley College.

LEADING LADIES: Feb. 4, Kingston. The Reggae Film Festival's Barbara Blake-Hannah (right) and former justice minister Dorothy Lightbourne were among the many attendees who took in Tayo Aluko's performance of the award-winning Call Mr. Robeson at the Edna Manley College on the weekend.
