BITS & PIECES: Miss Jamaica World selects its first Top 10 finalist

Following her first-place finish in the Sports Fast Track Competition staged this past Tuesday at the Spartan Health Club, Miss Venus Embrace Trishauna Clarke has earned a Top 10 spot in this year’s Miss Jamaica World competition. Described as the “biggest physical challenge of the 2012 competition,” the Sports Fast Track tested the mettle of the aspirants with rigorous challenges thst put their endurance and strength to the test. Clarke (above with Julian Walker and Steve Ming) and 19 other young ladies are vying for this year’s crown. The 2012 series of activities will culminate with the grand coronation on June 23.

After a long and drawn-out period of estrangement (14 months, to be exact), it seems ace sportsman Chris Gayle and the West Indies Cricket Board have patched up their differences. Is that a collective sigh of relief I’m hearing? Reports reveal that Gayle, 32, has returned to the Windies fold and is now looking ahead to the team’s crucial upcoming test series against England later this month.
