ON THE SCENE: Usain Bolt + Wavell Hinds + Natel + Glen Archer + Ryan Chan + Asafa Powell + Chris Gayle

PEP TALK: May 31, Maryland. Rev. Glen Archer and 14-year-old star speller Gifton Wright (centre) are seen here during a break at the 2012 Scripps Howard Spelling Bee Championship Final at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Centre in National Harbour, Maryland. Wright, a Kingston College student, finished in fourth place (Round 9) out of a total of 278 spellers from around the world.

POSTCARD FROM ROME: May 30, Italy. Superstar sprinter Usain Bolt is all smiles as he shares a photo-op with Romeo, the official mascot of the 2012 Rome Diamond League Meet, during a press conference on Wednesday.

ALL TOGETHER NOW: May 30, Italy. These Italian fans (in Fuicimino, to be exact) couldn't get enough of track superstar Asafa Powell (centre) who, along with several other Jamaicans, was in Europe this week to participate in the Rome Diamond League meet.

A STITCH IN TIME: May 29, Kingston. Trinidad's Ryan Chan makes the final alterations to his prom-perfect design, which got the judges' nod as the best piece of the night on Tuesday's Mission Catwalk. For his hard work, Chan earned a spot among this season's top five on the fashion reality series.

MADE IN THE SHADE: May 28, New York. Intent on taking his recording career to new heights, reggae-soul singer-songwriter (and new dad) Natel was recently in transit in New York, armed with his light travel gear and that constant handheld companion.

GOOD SPORTS: May 29, Kingston. Is there such a thing as cricket humour? Never heard of it, but veteran batsmen Chris Gayle and Wavell Hinds clearly got a kick out of discussing the game during a recent taping of SportsMax Zone.
