Beenie Man faces the loss of his dad

Dancehall artiste Moses 'Beenie Man' Davis and his manager/brother Rohan ‘Blue’ Smith are mourning the loss of their father, affectionately known as “Bragga” Davis. According to reports, Mr. Davis died at the University Hospital of The West Indies on Wednesday while undergoing treatment for a health complaint. Sources close to the family say his passing has come as a “shock” and “the general mood is one of sadness.”

Who will hit the stage at Reggae Sumfest 2012?

As we await word on the international superstars who will electrify Catherine Hall at the Jamaica 50 incarnation of Reggae Sumfest, a slew of reggae and dancehall acts have already been identified among the shoo-in entertainers set to rip the stage at the July 15-21 star-studded event. Not surprisingly, the likes of Damian ‘Gongzilla’ Marley, Beenie, Romain Virgo and Tifa are getting early buzz. The same goes for reigning hotshots like Popcaan, Chris Martin, Ce’Cile and Konshens.
