THE BUZZ REPORT: Greatest Reggae Show on Earth launched; top athletes blaze a trail

With only a couple weeks to go before the big event unfolds at Catherine Hall, organizers held launch party for Reggae Sumfest 2012 at the Downtown Kingston waterfront (Ocean Boulevard) on Sunday evening. Preview performances were rendered by I-Octane (above), Tommy Lee and Christopher Martin.

And speaking of the musical three-day affair, long-reigning dancehall queenpin Marion ‘Lady Saw’ Hall is being given a special honour this year. Great, great idea. It’s about time.

Back with new music after a lengthy self-imposed hiatus, crooner Da’Ville is celebrating the release of his latest studio effort, Krazy Love, via his own Fashozy Records.

Talk about a dynamic duo. Trailblazing sprinters Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Yohan Blake proved they are ones to beat in London this summer when they copped the respective sprint doubles at the National Senior Champs over the weekend – setting the stage for some mouth-watering action at the Olympics.
