Joining a rapidly growing list of young male Jamaican entertainers (Chino, Aidonia, Natel) who’ve added parenthood to their list of top priorities since 2012 began, Christopher Martin is about to take on that life-altering experience for himself.
The 25-year-old singer and girlfriend Ce’Cile Charlton, 35, are said to be expecting their first baby together.
Earlier this year, the gossip mill went into overdrive with an unsubstantiated rumour that Ce’Cile was pregnant with twins. (According to online sources, the rumour got started all the way in Belize). But a couple weeks later Ce’Cile did an E-Prime interview where she hastily rubbished the twins gossip. Then, the Observer’s Page 2 caught up with the star at last month’s Caribbean Fashion Week, where she revealed that these days she is indeed a happy expectant mom, and a few months into her pregnancy.
Meantime, Ce’Cile isn’t performing at Reggae Sumfest this year, but Martin has been confirmed as one of several reggae-pop acts (Damian Marley, Protoje, Raine Seville) sharing the stage on International Night II on Saturday, July 21 with R&B superstar R. Kelly.
