HEAD STRONG: Gray has reason to smile these days.
Three months after that horrific gun-attack nightmare left her bloody and subsequently battling for life in a hospital bed, Jody-Ann Gray and her close relatives have joyful news to share: the 28-year-old former KOOL FM presenter is now the proud mother of a healthy baby girl.
A few days ago, Gray gave birth at an undisclosed overseas hospital. “This is something that she has wanted for a long time. She’s so happy to welcome a baby into her life,” a family friend tells TALLAWAH.
Yet there is a sad postscript to this story as the father of Gray’s new baby, Wayne Whyte (and his cronies) are in prison awaiting trial in connection to the vicious attack that nearly snuffed out Gray’s life back in April as she was about to enter her Portmore home one Wednesday night. She was almost seven months pregnant at the time of the attack.
Meantime, following her spirited recovery (about a month ago) from surgery to remove the bullets from her body, Gray’s delivery marks a sunny new step in this period of healing and getting her life fully back on track. “After all she has been through, she deserves to be happy,” another friend says of Gray, an alumna of the UWI Mona. Stay tuned.
