SPREADING HER WINGS: Cherine’s “Eagles & Doves” keeps on soaring

On the heels of her recent knockout performance at the renowned Sierra Nevada World Music Festival in Booneville, California, Cherine is celebrating her latest coup on the charts. Her emotional single “Eagles & Doves” has finally claimed the #1 spot on the BESS FM Reggae Chart and has been added to the roster of all major Jamaican radio stations. The single is the latest cut off the dancehall-soul songbird’s well-received JA 9.25 mixtape, which she dropped late last year.

In addition to crafting new tracks for her long-in-coming first solo album, these days Cherine is also gearing up for a busy summer, which will see her giving performances at festivals across Canada and the United Stages.

Protoje’s Second Act: His stellar debut effort, The Seven-Year Itch, now a part of musical history, Protoje is on to the next one. The reggae warrior has appropriately titled his sophomore album The Eight-Year Affair. No word yet on an official release date, but if lead-off single “Who Dem A Program” is any reliable indicator, Protoje has another hit on his hands.
