TEAM JAMAICA: Strong delegation announced for London Olympics

London, here we come! With the 2012 Summer Olympics just a couple weeks away, the Jamaica Olympic Association on Monday officially named the contingent that will represent us at the eagerly-anticipated Games of the XXX Olympiad (July 27-August 12).

The team is comprised of 50 athletes and 22 officials, headed by Chef de Mission Donald Anderson.

Defending sprint champions Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce top the list of athletes. Of the 50, three will participate in non-track and field events. Swimmer Alia Atkinson will be looking to make a splash in the pool in the 100 M breast stroke. Samantha Albert will take part in Equestrian (eventing) while Kenneth Edwards will be doing his thing in Taekwondo.
