THE BIG THREE: Bolt holds up his London gold medals.
As he continues his post-Olympics rounds – days away from his 26th b-day – Jamaica’s king of speed Usain Gold made an appearance on Britain’s enormously popular The Jonathan Ross Show this past weekend to dish on his success and future plans.
Bolt joined fellow Olympians Kelly Brooks, Tom Daly and Jessica Ennis on the couch, alongside movie star Colin Farrell, as the show kicked off its third season. By all accounts, not to mention the hearty laughter and dancing, Bolt had a whale of a time.
Dishing on his ambitions to lace up for Manchester United, Bolt said, “That’s definitely one thing I want to try. I think I’ll be good. I’ve got the skills.” Then there’s the prospect of defending his sprint titles at his third consecutive Summer Olympic Games in Rio in 2016, “I definitely think [I’ll be there], if I pace myself. My coach says as long as I stay fit and focussed, I’ll be on top of the world until I retire.”
In the meantime, though, with three races on the horizon this season, British hotel rooms are Bolt’s temporary home away from home. And as for his upcoming birthday (he turns 26 on Tuesday), he noted, “The thing is, I’m outside of London, so there’s really nothing to do. I’ll spend my birthday on my own in my hotel room.”
ALL TOGETHER: Bolt, with Daly, Ross, Rita Ora, Brooks, Ennis and Farrell.
