HIGH & MIGHTY: Spencer being presented with a certificate by sports minister Natalie Neita-Headley at the recent celebration for the Olympic team.
“And would you look at those shoes!,” emcee Fae Ellington screamed with delight as Olympian and gazelle-like beauty Kaliese Spencer appeared onstage at last Monday’s cultural celebration inside the National Arena to collect an award for representing the country at the London 2012 Summer Games.
Balanced precariously on a pair of staggeringly high Giuseppe Zanotti bright-yellow (heel-less) platforms, the ace hurdler was a towering vision, flawlessly made up and outfitted in a matching, sheer yellow top and black, figure-hugging knickers.
With her stadium-bright smile and slender, superfit physique, Spencer could easily give those CFW and NYFW models a run for their money without breaking a sweat. How does she manage to maintain that effortless-glam look and such a tight bod? “I eat healthy,” she dishes to TALLAWAH with a chuckle, “and I have a great stylist.” Simple and classic. We would expect nothing less.
At the end of the night’s vibrant, well-attended celebration, she told us, “[Tonight] was wonderful. It was a great pleasure being here, knowing that the country appreciates us and wants to help us in our future endeavours.” And speaking of the future, Kaliese says she simply plans to remain optimistic about her life and athletic career. “I’m keeping it positive,” she explains. “I’m going back to training this month, and hopefully I’ll be doing great next season.”
