TALK OF THE TOWN: The Windies triumph in World T20 final; Pepita’s comeback

The jubilant West Indies cricketers broke out their best “Gangnam Style“ moves yesterday as they reveled in their sweet victory over home-side Sri Lanka in the final of the World T20 cricket tournament in Colombo. Buoyed by a masterful batting performance from Marlon Samuels, the Windies posted 137-6 before routing the Sri Lankans for 101 all out (18.4 overs). Samuels was named Man of the Match. The victory marked the squad’s fourth lien on a world title. Ralllly!

What lovely (hopefully!) names have Yendi Phillipps and Ce’Cile Charlton given their respective daughters? The suspense is unbearable. At one point it was being rumoured that Yendi had settled on Sonja in honour of her late mother, while Ce’Cile had decided on Cynthia. Time will tell…

Great to see Pepita Little, formerly of Intense, making a spirited comeback as host of Tastee Talent Trail. Such a charming girl with enormous potential. Meantime, Oral Tracey and Amelia ‘Milk’ Sewell have returned as judges of the talent series and are joined by singer Alaine Laughton, who replaces Audrey Reid

What’s hot right now: Picking up and flying off to Australia-New Zealand for a nice little holiday.
