NEWS & NOTES: Bolt and Fraser-Pryce win 2012 Golden Cleats awards + Yohan Blake covers Britain’s In-Spirels Magazine

IN STYLE: Is it Blake season already? World champion Yohan Blake cuts a dapper figure as he graces the Jan/Feb 2013 issue of Britain’s In-Spirels magazine. In the new issue, one of the UK’s leading inspirational and lifestyle magazines for women, the sprinter – who’s aiming to defend his 100M crown at the Moscow championships this summer – opens up about life on and off the track, among other things. The article promises to be a fascinating read. The issue, which also features a fitness special and an interview with bestselling author Cathy Glass, goes on sale Jan. 20.

WINNER’S CIRCLE: And speaking of first-class runners, as anticipated, Olympic champions Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce walked away with the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) 2012 Golden Cleats Awards on Tuesday afternoon at the Terra Nova Hotel. Bolt’s coach Glen Mills was named Coach of the Year. But the day belonged to Bolt and Fraser-Pryce, who laid claim to the male and female athletes of the year awards, largely due to their stellar performances, including golden runs at the London Olympic Games last summer.
