SCENE & HEARD: Major Lazer + I-Octane + PM Portia Simpson-Miller + Usain Bolt

GOOD SPORTS: Jan. 18, Kingston. Last Friday at Jamaica House, PM Portia Simpson-Miller handed over football gear to Tyrone Davis, a member of the Greenwich Town Football Club, which hails from her South-West St. Andrew constituency. Simpson-Miller gave them boots, socks and medical kits valued at over $200,000 as the team is set to compete in the Jamaica National Super League. RISE OF THE TITAN: Jan. 22, St. Andrew. Early on Tuesday, sprint king Usain Bolt was presented with yet another accolade: the Sportsman of the Year Award from China's Titan Sports Media Group, in tribute to his sterling performances on the track in 2012. As previously reported, the ace athlete (being handed his gold cup by China's rep) has teamed up with the Iberostar Hotel & Resorts to host a stellar weekend of activities this coming April. (Photo: Usain Bolt)

LOGGING ON: Crowd-pleasing entertainer I-Octane (being assisted by a member of the technical staff) paid a visit to the offices of Digicel on Tuesday afternoon to host a live online chat, during which the brand ambassador fielded a tonne of questions from his fans and admirers on his career and personal life. (Photo: Digicel)

HAVING A BALL: Jan. 21, St. Andrew. International music/DJ sensation Major Lazer certainly knows how to make an entrance, and he proved as much when he appeared to thrill a large UWI crowd in a large inflatable tube recently. "It was a wild evening. He really put on a show for the crowd," a source tells TALLAWAH. Luckily, no one tried to burst his bubble. (Photo: Skkan Media)
