IN THE MIX: Damian Marley set to headline Hollywood Bowl + Singer Stephanie is on her ‘Real Woman’ + Protoje’s 8 Year Affair hits iTunes

LAUNCH: “It’s been two years in the making, and I’m so glad that it’s finally here,” gushes singer-songwriter Stephanie Wallace-Maxwell, while introducing her debut EP Real Woman at RedBones in St. Andrew recently. “It’s about celebrating my womanhood and all aspects of who I am, because I’m not just a singer and a writer; I do PR and marketing, among many other things.” The EP launch also served as a platform to unveil Havatio Music, the indie label that Stephanie has formed with musician husband Stephen Maxwell. “It’s been such a challenge, but in creating a label, we are creating our own, instead of waiting on outside people to come in and invest in us.” Comprised of seven reggae-R&B-soul tracks, Real Woman is heading to iTunes shortly, with plans for a full-length album to arrive post-summer.

NEW ALBUM: Protoje’s newly-released sophomore effort, The 8-Year-Affair, is currently available for download via iTunes. A follow-up to his acclaimed debut, The 7-Year Itch, the 14-track record also delivers collaborations with the likes of Tessanne Chin and Romain Virgo. Buy it HERE.

CONCERT: With the Bob Marley tribute at the Grammys still fresh on people’s minds, Damian Marley is getting set to return to Los Angeles, this time as headliner of the Hollywood Bowl in June. “Our annual Reggae Night returns this year featuring three-time Grammy-winning ragga/dancehall superstar Junior Gong, along with timeless roots reggae performers,” reads the announcement on the mega-concert’s official website, hollywoodbowl.com, where tickets go on sale soon. Meantime, Marley and his Ghetto Youths camp are gearing up for the release of a brand-new compilation dubbed Set Up Shop Vol. 1, out on Feb. 26.
