EYE ON THE PRIZE: "This is one of the greatest honours. I worked hard over the years to win this a third time. It’s magnificent. It’s like winning a gold medal," sprinter Usain Bolt said, following the announcement that he'd snagged the 2012 Sportsman of the Year award at the Laureus Sports Awards, held in Rio de Janeiro, on Monday. The 26-year-old Bolt, who will compete at the Cayman Invitational on May 8, won his Laureus Award number three after a dominant performance on the track at last summer's London Olympics, winning gold in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay. While British heptathlete Jessica Ennis was named top sportswoman, Andy Murray won top breakthrough athlete, and Felix Sanchez claimed the main comeback athlete of the year award. The European Ryder Cup golfers were honoured as the best team.
