NEWS & NOTES: Usain Bolt strikes up a 'snappy' alliance with Samsung + Stephanie scores a reality-series double

PHOTO FINISH: It's a picture-perfect partnership that feels right: the king of speed paired with a high-end, super-speedy camera. As it happens, Jamaica's sprint phenom Usain Bolt has been tapped to star in a new worldwide ad campaign for Samsung’s new wifi-enabled camera (the NX300), which was launched this week. As the global ambassador for this exciting new product, the six-time Olympic gold medallist will also promote Samsung's NX Junior Photographer campaign, which provides camera equipment and photography lessons to children from disadvantaged backgrounds. "Like Usain Bolt, the NX300 camera is super-fast and allows photographers to be part of the front-row action and shoot amazing moments," the team at Samsung said in a statement. "The NX Junior Photographer campaign will see Samsung and Usain Bolt work in partnership to build on the athlete's natural love of being behind the camera and will see the six-time gold medal-winning Olympian showcase his very own Usain Bolt Foundation to provide equipment and lessons to children from disadvantaged backgrounds."

MAKING MOVES: These days, reggae/R&B songbird Stephanie is on a roll! Mere weeks after dropping her stellar debut EP, Real Woman, the charming singer-songwriter's tune "If This Is Real" has landed as a major song placement on the Lifetime reality series Dance Moms Miami. And she's showing no signs of slowing down. Through the Dallas-based production company Rebel America Inc. the songstress has seen yet another one of her gems, "Together," making the cut on MTV's reality series Made. By all accounts, Stephanie is making serious moves this year. Check out the clip HERE.

  1. Samsung and the Usain Bolt Foundation working on a youth photography initiative in Jamaica. Great news and I hope the young people take hold of the opportunity being made available to them.
