NEW MUSIC REVIEW: Press play on these sizzling tracks by Romain Virgo, Cat Power, Sean Paul and Beenie Man

Shabba Ranks set a rather lofty bar with the vintage smash "Trailer Load of Girls", but dancehall icons Beenie Man and Sean Paul prove they have way heftier appetites, seeking a million-plus dames on their new collabo "Greatest Gallis," a spiky, hugely enjoyable track laced with clever wordplay and no shortage of masculine bravado. Singer Romain Virgo has shown that among his contemporary peers, very few give lovers' rock tunes the requisite emotional heft to elevtate the music into sheer soul-stirring delight. His latest effort, "Only If They Knew," off the Insecurity Riddim, accomplishes just that and continues his exploration of love and longing with a moving account of star-crossed lovers. A-

Released as the second cut off her new album, Sun, pop-folk queenpin Cat Power offers a tuneful ode to the chic, trendy New York enclave with "Manhattan," featuring smoky, unfussy vocals and indie charm to spare. B
