THE BUZZ REPORT: Jamaicans to vote for all-time greatest national festival song

This year, in place of the regular National Festival Song competition, the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) is proposing a public vote, where Jamaicans will participate in selecting the best festival song winner of the past 50 years. As culture minister Lisa Hanna explains, the list will be narrowed to ten, and a big celebration will be held around those selections. Jamaica's Festival Song competition has been in existence since 1966. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the JCDC, which organizes the annual Festival of the Arts.

Balancing a heavy plate these days (a thriving acting career, a hot new radio show, and musical ambitions), Donald 'Iceman' Anderson has opted to lighten the load a bit to give more focus to making his radio show, Hot 102's Hot Ice, a real contender in the afternoon ratings. As such, Winston Bell has been invited to join the cast of the hit musical comedy Glass Slippaz. The move now sees costar Glen Campbell filling in for Anderson while Bell alternates in Campbell's initial role of yard-boy Simple.
