BUZZ ON BOOKS: John Grisham's hotly anticipated new novel + New C'bean literary award open for submissions

THE WRITE STUFF: The newly established Burt Award for Caribbean Literature is now accepting submissions for eligible books (published between Aug. 2011 and Aug. 2013) and manuscripts (must be received by the judging panel from publishers by Aug. 23, 2013). Launched in Trinidad this past April, the Burt Award was set up by CODE (a Canadian NGO) in collaboration with William Burt and the Literary Prizes Foundation and the Bocas Literary Fest, with the aim of celebrating the literary achievements of Caribbean authors while improving young readers' access to books that are engaging and meaningful to them.
