THE BUZZ REPORT: TALLAWAH dishes entertainment news and showbiz bits and pieces

Reggae-soul hitmaker Christopher Martin is scheduled to drop his next album (as yet untitled) in early 2014, via VP Records, with which he recently inked a deal. Says Martin, "I am very happy to be working with VP. I've made major strides in my career as an independent artist and, with the backing of VP plus all the hard work, I will continue to put in, I strongly feel that the sky is the limit for me. I'm looking forward to greater things from myself and my new team."

And speaking of upcoming CDs, next month (or early October) will welcome the much-anticipated release of Wayne Marshall’s new disc, Tru Colours, which was executive-produced by Damian Marley for Ghetto Youths/Tuff Gong. Both Marshall and Marley (alongside dancehall’s Aidonia and Assassin) provided an utterly memorable International Night 2 highlight at Reggae Sumfest when they joined forces during Junior Gong’s set to deliver a splendid performance of “Go Hard,” the album’s lead-off single.
TV J is officially Dahlia Harris Central, following last week’s successful televised premiere of the multi-hyphenate’s latest play, Thicker Than Water, which will run in parts on the station on Sunday nights for the next few weeks. The Smile Jamaica co-host is also among the actresses garnering major buzz, as awards season draws ever closer.
