Lagan, a solo exhibition of recent work by Washington-based artist Wilmer Wilson IV (made during his two-month residency at the NLS (Mountain View Avenue) is opening this Saturday at the NLS. Featuring sculptural arrangements that echo forms encountered in everyday spaces in Kingston, the show promises to enlighten and entice viewers.

DANCE: The NDTC’s 51st season
With some five new works added to the repertoire, the National Dance Theatre Company’s 51st season continues through August 11 at the Little Theatre in Kingston. Choreographers include Clive Thompson and Marlon Simms and, naturally, Rex Nettleford.

MOSCOW 2013: World Athletics Championships
Some 206 nations, including Jamaica, are taking part in the 2013 World Athletics Championships, which gets going in Moscow, Russia this Saturday through August 18. The city hosted the 1980 Summer Olympics and the 2006 IAAF World Indoor Championships.
