BITS & PIECES: Upcoming Rex N. documentary set for premiere + Erna Brodber's new UWI appointment + Jamaica to host FIFA World Cup trophy

ON THE REEL: At long last, the much-anticipated documentary on the life of Rex Nettleford is set for a world premiere. The film, aptly titled Renaissance Man, will be shown on Thursday, Sept. 26 at Carib Theatre and on Thursday, October 3 at MoBay's Palace Multiplex. To reserve tickets, contact 977-1600 or 940-4399. The event is being put on by the Rex Nettleford Foundation.

LITERARY LIFE: Celebrated Jamaican novelist Erna Broadber has been appointed writer-in-residence at UWI Mona's Department of Literatures in English for the current academic year. Brodber will teach creative writing courses in prose fiction and offer creative writing workshops both on campus and in the wider university community.

GOLDEN PRIZE: The FIFA World Cup trophy is set to arrive in Jamaica on Saturday, October 5, offering local football fans the opportunity to view global football's greatest prize up close and personal. To mark the historic occasion, Coca-Cola is planning on paying tribute to a selection of Jamaican football greats.
