NEWS YOU CAN USE: Former PM Bruce Golding to present at next week's Caribbean Lecture Series

KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Bruce Golding is heading back to the public-speaking circuit, signalling a clean bill of health following health challenges in recent months. The former Jamaican Prime Minister is set to headline the latest instalment of the Caribbean Lecture Series, with a presentation centred on "Jamaica's challenges, opportunities and imperatives." The New York Public Library's Schonburg Centre for Research in Black Culture (515 Malcolm X Boulevard) in the United States will play host to the event scheduled for October 22.

IN TUNE: On the heels of his smash collabo "Riot" (with Sean Paul), Damian Marley has teamed with fellow young veteran Cham on "Fighter," a pulsating reggae-dancehall jam that, as its title suggests, examines the ubiquitous concepts of struggle and survival. Cham's longtime producing partner Dave Kelly crafted the radio-ready track for his still-going-strong Madhouse Records.

ART OF THE MATTER: Mere weeks after the world premiere of Renaissance Man, a 2013 documentary chronicling the life and legacy of late cultural icon Rex Nettleford, the Edna Manley College is set to host the 2013 Rex Nettleford International Arts Conference, starting on Thursday, October 17 on the college campus.
