HOT TICKETS: The Kingston debut of the Met Opera's brand-new season + Junior Gong and Shaggy headlining New Zealand festival

STAGE PRESENCE: Shaggy and fellow Grammy winner Damian Marley have been confirmed as the reggae headliners of the 2014 Raggamuffin Festival in New Zealand set for January 31 to February 1 at the Rotorua International Stadium. "It will be particularly special to have Damian performing in New Zealand in the week of his father's birthday," notes the festival's organizers, "and marking 35 years since Bob Marley's historic performance at Western Springs."

RAZZLE DAZZLE: The 2013-14 Met Opera Season kicks off this Saturday, October 5, on the Palace Cinemas circuit, with the showing of Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin (with Anna Netrebko and Piotr Beczala, above). As for the remainder of the season's schedule: Shostakovich's The Nose (Oct. 26); Puccini's Tosca (Nov. 9); Verdi's Falstaff (Dec. 14); Dvorak's Rusalka (Feb. 8); Borodin's Prince Igor (March 1); Massenet's Werther (March 15); Puccini's La Boheme (April 5); Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte (April 26) and Rossini's La Cerenetola (May 10).
