BITS & PIECES: From Asafa's 2014 calendar to Celine Dion's latest, four things you should know about

LAUNCH: On October 25, track star Asafa Powell unveiled his red-hot 2014 calendar with a Tru Juice-sponsored shinding at Bookophilia, Hope Road. Among those who came out to support the event were singer Denyque, publicist Tara Playfair, Pulse boss Kingsley Cooper and spint legend Juliet Cuthbert (above), among many others.

THEATRE: Written and directed by Thespy-nominated writer-actor Fabian Barracks, the gritty new play Gaza Boyz will debut at the Theatre Place, New Kingston from Nov. 26-29. Tickets: 478-8959.

DANCE: Set to show off the choreography they've been working on these past few months, the University Dance Society will host their first lunch-hour concert of the new academic year at the Philip Sherlock Centre, UWI Mona, on Thursday, Nov. 14. Curtain time 1:00pm.

ALBUM: Multiple Grammy winner and pop icon Celine Dion will, on Nov. 5, release her latest album, the 13-track Loved Me Back to Life, her first English-language record in almost seven years. Ne-Yo co-wrote and co-produced the album being released by Columbia Records.
