SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: Digicel 10 is a celebration of life-changing national partnerships

COMMUNITY SPIRIT: How time flies! "Our biggest achievement is developing long-standing effective partnerships with individuals and organizations from all walks," notes Trisha Williams-Singh, Chair of Digicel's 10th Anniversary Celebrations Committee. "We are always seeking to increase our impact through innovation and our strategic directions that respond to the development needs of the nations." According to published data, to date the mobile company and its eponymous foundation have invested nearly $1.95 billion into local initiatives, directly impacting he lives of more than 446,000 Jamaicans via some 400 projects in the focus areas of community development, special needs and education. So, it's hardly surprising that the foundation has branded 2014 "a celebration of life-changing partnerships." "We are seeking to create a movement around volunteerism through the expansion of the national volunteerism database," Williams-Singh explains. "When we empower people, they respect themselves and others."
