MISSION FELLOWSHIP: IYF Jamaica finds a supercool way of connecting with today’s youth

ALL FOR ONE: IYF members supporting the Liguanea Art Festival at the Chinese Benevolent Association on Sunday.

Here’s one fantastic way to jump-start your 2014 summer season: by attending the empowering and fun-filled IYF World Camp Jamaica.

Buoyed by their mission of helping young people find their power and release their fears, the Christian-based International Youth Federation (Jamaica Chapter) is kicking off the second half of the year with the staging of a blockbuster summer camp at their Deanery Road base in Kingston from June 25-28.

Organizers say they fully intend to help attendees unlock the treasures inside their hearts, as they work towards future successes. “It’s like a workshop we have every year with a lot of fun activities for participants,” explains Shan Seung, a Kingston-based native of South Korea, where the IYF’s international headquarters is located. “The IYF is interested in connecting with today’s youth by taking a practical approach.”

In addition to inspiring guest lectures from accomplished public figures, the youngsters can also look forward to a series of empowering mind development lectures; sessions on everything from bible study to financial management to tae kwon do; as well as such sporting activities as a 5K mini marathon and other fun challenges. A “cultural experience” will showcase the best of the performing arts from the global community.

With more than 79 branches across the globe, the International Youth Federation is clearly focused on living up to its billing as an international youth initiative dedicated to the intellectual, emotional and spiritual growth of young people.
