OUR GIRL TESS: The songbird attends an album listening party held in her honour at Digicel HQ.
Looking svelte in a clean-chic jazzy-print ensemble, Tessanne had the rooftop crowd vibing to cuts from the record, as company staffers, friends and family all toasted her latest coup.
No doubt being selected for the big gig matters deeply to the 28-year-old star. “Winning The Voice was a dream come true for me, and the last couple of months have just been a whirlwind of unforgettable experiences,” Tessanne says. “Now, being a Digicel brand ambassador is the icing on the cake.”
And the feeling is mutual for her new bosses. After all, Tessanne has long been a part of the Digi family, adding her voice to the 2010 call-to-action group anthem “Rise Up,” recorded to raise funds for recovery efforts in earthquake-ravaged Haiti and joining the team of Rising Stars judges in 2011. “Digicel has always supported home-grown talent, and so it was a very easy decision for us to partner with Tessanne, who graciously accepted our offer to become a regional brand ambassador,” reports James Wynne, Digicel’s group head of sponsorship.
For Tessanne, fruitful collaboration is the name of the game. “I am looking forward to continuing to work with Digicel in promoting Caribbean culture through my music,” she says, “as well as continue supporting its many community-based initiatives across the region.” Now that’s extraordinary.
