STAR TALK: What's the singular jam that most reminds you of summer?

"Summertime and the living is easy," wrote famed lyricist George Gershwin. The season's soundtrack, as it turns out, ain't too shabby either. As the temperatures rise and the hemlines grow shorter, we asked a handful of singing sensations to single out the warm-weather tunes that most compellingly remind them of the summer months. Let's jam!

OMARI
> "Holiday" by Ding Dong and Chevaughn
"Once you hear that song you know seh its summer or summer is coming up. I think it has been the biggest local summer anthem in recent years. I remember when I first heard the song I could easily identify that it was Chevaughn singing the hook. It's a great song."

MARIO EVON
> "Summer Time" by Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince
"It's definitely reminiscent of the season, and that's what I love about it. When I first heard the song I was thinking about all the things he was talking about in the song: high-school romance, the fashion statements at the time. And the music was just cool. The video had a big barbecue scene and a chill vibe that makes you feel good."

CHERINE
> "Say Hey" by Michael Franti and Spearhead
"Barbecues, parties, everywhere I went that song was on the playlist when it came out. I was featured on it, of course, and it took me all over the world."

CHARMAINE LIMONIOUS
> "Summertime" from Porgy & Bess
"Oh, that's a nice one. And it's a classic. I love anything to do with Broadway, so it's the perfect one for me."

NICKEISHIA BARNES
> "Summer Rain" by Sam Thomas
"I think it's my favourite song that makes me think of summer. I like the idea that everything about summer that's beautiful he captures in that song: rain even when the time is hot, family and friends, the beach 'cause we're island people. That whole tropical vibe. For me everytime I hear it, it puts me in the mood to just enjoy the season."
